Achieving Investors In People Platinum Re-Accreditation – Our Commitment to Excellence

Our organisation is proud to announce that we have upheld our Platinum Accreditation from Investors In People (IIP) after a recent audit: a prestigious recognition of our commitment to our people. This achievement demonstrates our unwavering commitment to creating a culture of excellence and investing in the growth and development of our employees. Attaining this milestone sets us apart as an organisation dedicated to creating a high-performance culture where our employees can thrive. Based on the framework, achieving platinum status is a rare success, with only 2% of businesses able to accomplish it. Being benchmarked on 27 scales of comparison against 50,000+ businesses being assessed globally; this achievement is a rare feat.

In this blog post, we want to celebrate our achievement and reflect on the journey that led us to this remarkable milestone. We will delve into the key initiatives, strategies, and best practices that propelled us toward Platinum Accreditation. Sharing our experience will serve as a testament to the power of investing in people as a driver of organisational success.

At the core of our organisation is a people-centric culture, where we recognise that our employees are our greatest asset, and their growth and well-being are paramount to our success. We prioritise open communication, trust, and collaboration, ensuring that every individual feels valued and empowered to contribute their best. To enrich this culture, we prioritise effective leadership and continuously improve our managers’ skills. Employee requirements are identified in our quarterly one-to-ones, appraisals and annual 360 questionnaires and have been logged since 2020. Furthermore, we create opportunities for employees to voice their opinions, contribute ideas, and actively participate in decision-making processes.

Learning and Development Initiatives

To enhance our performance, we have implemented various initiatives that focus on continuous learning and improvement. Our primary approach was to create a culture that encourages our employees to seek new knowledge, develop new skills and expand their capabilities. We offer access to training programs, workshops, and seminars that cater to both technical and soft skills. We also invest in apprenticeship programs that pair experienced employees with emerging talents to facilitate knowledge transfer and professional growth. Moreover, we encourage multi-skilling, allowing employees to explore different roles and departments within the organisation, promoting cross-functional expertise, and career advancement.

Creating an Engaging and Inclusive Work Environment

Our company strived for the highest level of accreditation by creating a workplace that values and respects everyone. We actively sought and acted upon employee feedback through channels for open dialogue that gauged satisfaction, identified areas for improvement, and measured the impact of our initiatives. Additionally, we stimulated a culture that encouraged employees to prioritise their well-being, offering flexible work arrangements, and wellness programs, and promoting a healthy work-life balance. Our commitment to our employees’ holistic well-being resulted in a thriving environment for personal and professional growth.

Continuous Improvement and Future Aspirations

Check-ins with our IIP representative are done regularly and they help us make sure we are attaining the level of commitment required to upkeep our Platinum standard. The framework IIP provides allows us to measure and improve our performance on a regular basis. KPIs are tracked around these areas:

Employee Engagement

Tracking engagement levels through KPIs such as our internal employee survey (360° Questionnaire) and feedback allows us to identify areas of improvement. Addressing any concerns and actively involving employees in decision-making results in a more engaged workforce and positive work culture.

Leadership Development

Cultivating strong leaders helps us maintain a culture of effective communication, empowerment, and accountability. Assessing the number of team members that participate in leadership training positions and generating feedback from team members around their views of leaders within the business helps us make sure that strong leadership is maintained.

Learning and Development

Focussing on monitoring training participation rates, skills development, and the application of learning in the workplace allows us to gauge the impact of our leading and learning development programs. This identifies any skill gaps that may need to be addressed, determining if we have provided the necessary knowledge and capabilities to perform roles effectively.

Employee Wellbeing

Things like absentee rates, health and safety incidents and work-life balance are all important to track as it gives a holistic view of the team’s well-being. Addressing these factors create a supportive and inclusive work environment, resulting in boosted morale, reduced staff turnover and improved productivity.
