BPerfect, the award-winning Northern Irish beauty brand, has rapidly expanded since its £500 launch in 2012 and is now a staple in over 2,700 UK and Irish stores. With thriving megastores in Belfast, Dublin, and Glasgow, BPerfect chose Manchester’s Arndale Centre to host its first location in England, aiming to create an unforgettable retail experience – and Ripple was there to bring their vision to life.
Raising the Bar
BPerfect had a clear vision: to build an immersive beauty destination that would offer customers a shopping experience beyond the product itself. Ripple was tasked with amplifying BPerfect’s existing store concept while incorporating new elements that would make this location the best yet.
With creative freedom in the design process, we aimed to deliver a store that would serve not only as a retail space but as an interactive hub for beauty events, consultations, and customer engagement – all while maintaining the brand’s unique style and feel.
The Approach
Ripple approached the project as if we were experiencing the BPerfect brand for the very first time, with fresh eyes and new ideas. Working closely with the client, we adapted existing elements, like the display stands, while introducing new design features to add value where it counted. Key features included:
Exclusive Additions: To match BPerfect’s forward-thinking identity, unique features were added, such as a custom-designed, acoustically treated TikTok booth. We also elevated the service counter and DJ booth with premium high-gloss laminates that align perfectly with the brand’s aesthetic.
Base Bar Consultation Stations: Known for its Base Bar consultation format, BPerfect needed a more interactive setup to foster group beauty tutorials and private one-on-one sessions. We reimagined the shape of the stations to a smooth horseshoe design, enhancing inclusivity and accessibility for both small group learning and personal beauty consultations.
Enhanced Customer Flow and Lighting: By refining the customer flow and introducing a dynamic lighting solution concept, we created a space that would intuitively guide shoppers through the store. Strategic LED lighting accents on consultation areas and the demo stations created a cohesive and immersive environment, enhancing the in-store experience.
Delivering Results in Record Time
Ripple’s work extended beyond the visual and functional design. Leveraging our local industry connections, we assisted BPerfect with logistical needs, sourcing trusted contractors for everything from fire safety systems to on-site installations.
The final result was a beauty destination that perfectly embodies the BPerfect brand ethos. With only three weeks on-site, the project required seamless teamwork and close collaboration from all parties to meet the deadline for launch. Ripple’s dedication to the project vision and attention to detail paid off, earning high praise from the B Perfect team.
