JT Atkinson recognised the need to modernise and standardise its showroom experience to align with contemporary retail trends and enhance customer engagement. The primary challenge was the lack of a unified showroom template that could be easily adapted across various locations. Without a template, they’d have faced inconsistent customer experiences and a fragmented brand image. 

To prevent this, JT Atkinson needed a solution that would not only standardise the showroom experience but also enhance customer engagement and streamline operations.

Given the diverse range of products and a strong customer focus, JT Atkinson sought a solution that would streamline the shopping experience and showcase their commitment to quality and service. They required a showroom design that could seamlessly integrate various product categories while providing a welcoming and informative environment for customers.


Ripple Group developed JT Atkinson’s “JTA Living” showroom concept. This solution aimed to create a versatile and adaptable showroom template that could be implemented across different branches, ensuring a consistent and engaging customer experience. The key components of the solution included:

  1. Welcome Desk: Positioned as the showroom’s focal point, the welcome desk created a strong first impression and served as a central point of contact, enhancing the customer journey.
  2. Consultation Space: Strategically located behind the welcome desk, this area provided immediate assistance to customers, fostering a positive and engaging environment. This setup highlighted JT Atkinson’s commitment to customer service.
  3. Versatile Product Display Bays: Designed to house various products, these bays allowed for easy updates to align with changing products and seasonal trends. This adaptability made the display bays sustainable and suitable for diverse retail spaces.

Ripple Group worked closely with JT Atkinson’s Head of Showroom and Merchandising to refine the showroom concept. The project began with the JTA Ulverston branch, serving as a template for other locations. The design process focused on customer-centric design and sustainable, adaptable layouts.

The “JTA Living” concept provided a scalable solution that addressed JT Atkinson’s need for a consistent brand experience. The adaptable design allowed for easy customisation across different retail environments, enhancing the customer journey and supporting high service standards. This comprehensive approach ensured that JT Atkinson could maintain a competitive edge in the market.
